Having issues getting a specialised Switch controller to work with games ran through Proton
I am having issues with using the Zuiki Mascon Switch controller with the game Train Crew, which I run through Proton. The controller is intended for use with train simulators, and sends the same data to the computer as a Switch Pro controller - details here.
The primary issue is that while the controller does not have a right stick, Proton seems to interpret this as the stick being permanently stuck to the left. There is a thread on the Steam forums that mentions this issue. However, I tried running the .reg file provided but all it did was disable the controller entirely.
Does anyone have any knowledge that could help here?

Can't get cursor to stay in the window of Arma 3
I've checked ProtonDB and this seem to be a common issue with dual monitors. I've tried the --force-grab-cursor without success. Gamescope (which I've never used before) only opens a black window about 1/3 of the screen. Of course I've also tried full-screen and windowed mode without results. Any ideas?
I'm on Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon with a NVIDIA GTX 1070 8Gb using 550.120 drivers, if that matters.
Thanks in advance!

Dualboot questions?
Firstly, I am completely new to linux, so take that into account in your replies
I am currently running win 10 on an 500 gb ssd. However, I just got a new 1Tb ssd. I am planning to install linux Mint on that.
I don't know if I'll be able to fully switch to linux yet, so I would be using both operating systems regularly.
What should I do with storing my games? Should I make a shared partitiom on my new ssd, that both OS can access. If so what filesystem to use? Or rather just split my games between win and linux, and have a different partition for both? Is it possible to have Steam on Linux access the same knstallations of my games as Steam on Windows?
Feel free to give any other tips too regarding getting into linux gaming or dualbooting.

WOW Classic
Hmmm... Yesterday, thanks to Lutris, I easily installed WOW Classic on my Debian laptop. Works just as well as under Windows.
Just a joy )

What are your thoughts on ALVR and WiVRn? (Nobara KDE)
Hi!
I've been on Linux since months now and wanted to try VR on it (I was dual booting Windows 11), would you guys recommend me ALVR or WiVRn as of right now?
I chase high frames but also clear visuals and no stutters/lag.
Thanks!

Certain Steam games crashing on NixOS
This mostly happens with Monster Hunter World, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero and Tekken 8. The latter two aren't as bad as I can usually get over an hour without crashing, but Monster Hunter World crashes without fail about 5-15 minutes into playing. Has anyone experienced this? Any help would be appreciated. Happy to provide logs and any other information if needed.
Nix config (if it helps): https://github.com/rossedwards64/dotfiles
Specs:
OS - NixOS 24.11
Proton version - Experimental
CPU - Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU - RX 7800XT
Thank you

Steam game that was working 2 days ago decides not to
I tried everything: changing proton version, changing disk, verifying integrity, clearing download cache, but it just doesn't wanna work. It was working perfectly not even 2 days ago and now it just decides to die on me

Windows to-go
Hello all. Sorry if this has been answered 1000 times but its the best way I know how to research without breaking things. I am running bazzite HTPC, which I am very happy with. Unfortunately I can not play everything I would like to and am searching for the safest way install and play some windows only titles. So far the best option seems to be creating a windows togo external nvme with rufus and using my USB-C 3.2 2x2 port. Looking for opinions on this as well as any further sugesstions, warnings, tutorials, etc. I also have only seen videos of people doing this with a system already running windows. Will I have any problems doing it from my kde desktop? Or should i use a different computer to create the drive. Again, i am sorry for not knowing much and happy for any information. I still have a lot to learn about linux.
