Any tiling window manager with fullscreen unredirection?
Im on CachyOS with Hyprland and im trying to play STALKER GAMMA but the performance was too bad, when i tested on Gnome the performance was much better (15+ fps) and i think the reason for that is the fullscreen unredirection, so i would like to know any tiling window manager with fullscreen unredirection, or something to fix the performance.

Darktide frametime problems
I'm trying to run Warhammer 40k Darktide and I'm having problems with frametiming. Frames per second are good enough, but frametiming is horrible.
I've tried tons of combinations of turning vsync on/off, turning DLSS on/off, turning FSR 3 on/off, turning FSR framegen on/off, using medium textures, using a lot of different versions of proton, giving the game high CPU priority, turning down max_worker_threads in the config inside the wine prefix, and some other fixes mentioned in protonDB...
The same thing also happens with "stable" nvidia drivers as well as newest ones (560.35.03) which solve wayland flickering.
None of these worked and it seems it isn't a widespread problem, on protonDB I could only find one other comment about same problems but with no solution.
I'm on plasma kde 6 with wayland, i9 11980HK (iGPU turned off completely in BIOS), RTX 3080 (mobile). Distro is NixOS.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Disk issue Steam
Hey everyone!
I recently made the switch to gaming on Linux and have run into a frustrating issue. Whenever I boot up my PC and Steam launches, all my installed games appear grayed out. The only way to get them recognized is by going to Steam settings, navigating to Storage, and manually adding the drive where the games are installed.
I’ve attached some pictures to show what I’m seeing. I suspect I might have messed something up during the Linux Mint installation—maybe the filesystem or partitions aren’t set up correctly. Both disks are NVMe SSDs
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to have Steam automatically recognize the installed games on startup without having to go through these extra steps every time? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Batman Arkham Asylum recurrent crashes
Hi,
I've tried to play Arkham Asylum GOTY on Steam. I'm running Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon with Nvidia GTX 1650 (drivers 535).
I had first issues to launch the game but i fixed it with ProtonUP-QT, installing Proton GE and using it in Steam.
As seen mutliple times in ProtonDB I also added in the Steam launch command :
gamemoderun protontricks d3dx9 d3dcompiler_43
The game works pretty well, sometimes (often when entering a new area) it just closes without any message but it's acceptable.
However i'm at the Titan fight in Botanical and I can't play the whole fight without crashing with the error : "runtime error Program: ...Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY\Binaries\ShippingPC-BmGame.exe "
It looks like the same issue as specified here linked to Visual C++ but I'm not sure how to use that solution in Linux.
Has anyone had the same issue ? How to fix it ? It seems Arkham Asylum runs poorly in general

Skyrim validating 1-1.5 gb of files every time I open steam
Every time I open steam skyrim validates 1-1.5 gb of something. This does happen with other games, most don't validate anything, and even if they do it's just a few megabytes. I'm using arch, my cpu is ryzen 5700U and my gpu is vega 8. My question is, is this normal? Does this fill my disc? Can this be fixed?

Picking a wayland friendly laptop
Used on wayland+swaywm. Mostly for programming work and playing some alltimers (dota 2, cs 2, wow via lutris). Not interested in latest/greatest AAA.
Are there any laptops you'd recommend? Are there any to avoid? Requirements being 144Hz+ display and discrete gpu (doh). Prefer AMD, my desktop is full AMD (cpu and gpu) and I'm very happy with it.
Currently eyeing the Lenovo legion 5 or 7 as I've loved all Lenovo products I've had so far. Unsure about wayland+nvidia gpu though. Thoughts?

Marvel Midnight Suns won't Launch
Hi, I bought this game fully aware of the minimum requirements but thought it was worth a try. When trying to run through Steam Proton, I get a message about needing a DX11 compatible card. I've had this before on other games so switched from Proton experimental to 7.something. This time I get an "Out of video memory" error message when trying to launch. I've tried a command to stop the 2K launcher from running but it's a shame I can't even get the game to open. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Once Human Hangs on Loading Screen
I built a gaming desktop that runs Fedora Linux XFCE and while trying to play Once Human, my game freezes up and I loose all function of my computer except for my mouse. Even playing in windowed I cannot access any other program and I am forced to hard shutoff and reboot my computer.
I used to not have any FPS in the game but the default proton version fixed that issue for me. I can access the main menu with no problems; the hang happens exclusively when I try to join into a server. I do not use any special launch commands at the moment. Here are my specs:
OS: Fedora Linux 40 (Xfce) x86_64
Host: X670E AORUS PRO X (-CF)
Kernel: Linux 6.10.10-200.fc40.x86_64
Display (VG27WQ1B): 2560x1440 @ 165 H]
DE: Xfce4 4.18
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D (32) @ 5.76 z
GPU 1: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT [Discret]
GPU 2: AMD Raphael [Integrated]
Any help would be appreciated.
