Visions of Evil - Asymmetric horror. Rituals. Weapons to fight back. Darkness to survive. Watch our first trailer.
Hey everyone,
we’re a small indie team and we just released the trailer for Visions of Evil, our upcoming asymmetric horror game where one player becomes a monster and the others try to survive by completing rituals, keeping the lights on, and unlocking weapons to fight back.
The best part: we’ve built native support for Linux and SteamOS, and the game runs smoothly on desktop Linux and the Steam Deck so far.
We’d love to hear what you think — and if there’s anything you’d want to see from a linux perspective, we’re listening.
More information can be found on the steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1550130/Visions_of_Evil/

How do I use a controller with my Ubuntu laptop?
Its been a few weeks since I switched from windows to Ubuntu and here is the problem I have a gaming controller Evofox one the one that doesn't come with a dongle and relies on bluetooth for connection and working but is apparently compatible for Android, Mac and Windows. So here are the problems I am facing
If I use the controller with an android or any other device and later I wanna connect it to the Ubuntu laptop I gotta forget the whole connection and re-pair the controller to the system and then a properly working connection is established otherwise if the connection is made without this method, my laptop only shows that a connection established but the actions on the controller don't get responded on the system
Once I manage to connect the device to the laptop properly the cursor seems to teleport while trying to move along with random clicks throughout the path it was supposed to move on
How do I fix these? I know there is nothing wrong with the controller as the Android and windows connection work as usual. Please help

Delta Force playable on Linux?
I am seriously thinking of migrating back to Linux as my daily driving, however, lately I've been playing a lot of Delta Force with friends and would like to keep playing it.
Has anyone being able to play the steam version using Linux?
Thanks in advance

Do other linux distros have the same quality sleep function as what's on Steam OS? Is it proton that provides this functionality, or is there something specific to Steam OS?
As the title says, considering setting up my pc as a console, considering Bazzite. Though would be cool if I could just set up a fedora install and have it as a desktop also.
Edit - Forgot to add, all AMD system

Minecraft Wayland performance way worse than expected
So I installed hyprland and decided to play minecraft. I noticed its running using XWayland and found a solution for this: using "glfw-wayland-minecraft-cursorfix" package from aur and telling Minecraft to use system GLFW library. And I thought it would work way better as its native to my WM but reality happened to be the complete opposite. Same world, same settings, same window size. :/ Is there anything im missing about this?

supergfxctl
Hi all, recently installed Fedora on my asus rog zephyrus g14 g402rj. Very happy overall-was previously on debian which had a lot of issues with my hardware.
I installed both asusctl and supergfxctl to control graphics, and at first it was fine. I was able to seamlessly switch between integated, hybrid, and dgpu. After a reboot, however, only my dgpu is recognized and I cannot use hybrid or integrated graphics. I've also listed my devices with asusctl and same thing, only shows my dgpu. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why there is no wine/protonGE prefixes with all game dlls dependencies already built in?
There are some general problems with games asking for vcreadist dlls. You can install them with proton tricks for sure, but why they aren't built in from the start? Isn't it more practical? Those dlls aren't even large files.

cursor moving to other screen while gaming
Hi, pretty new to gaming on linux so apologies if this is has been asked here, I couldn't find anything personally. I'm on Fedora 42 with gnome. I have two monitors, and when I'm looking around in any game, my cursor leaves the screen I'm playing on and goes to my other screen. I've tried setting the in-use monitor as my primary display but that didn't change anything. Is there a way to 'lock' my cursor to one screen/workspace? I'd prefer to avoid mirroring my displays or turning off the one I'm not using.

Lower Max FPS after loading Shader caches
Hi I skiped the shaders when I installer HUNT Showdown for the first time. I had with my settings in the same location around 140 up to 160 FPS.
The day after I let the game Install the shaders and got on the sam location max 130FPS struggling to contain 120FPS and even dropping a few time under 30FPS.
Is that normal ? If not what can I do ?

CPU stuck at 40% in game
Hi. I play Dota 2 but my CPU is stuck at 40%. Intel core I5 8400. Nvidia gtx 1650. Also the temperature of the CPU is about 50C. And the game uses 100% of the GPU. Is it a bottleneck or a bug that is fixable? Because it used to use more cpu

How can I track playtime statistics across desktop and Steam Deck?
Back when I gamed on Winows, I used Playnite as a universal game launcher. My favourite thing about it was how I could track what games I had played and for how long on a weekly basis, giving me an "hours played per week" that was useful in tracking how long I spent on this hobby.
Having fully switched to Linux after getting a Steam Deck, I wanted to get a similar statistic. The Playtime plugin for Decky loader works really well for this, but doesn't seem to sync across PC and Steam Deck. Is there any way to do this?

Sober doesn’t work
So I used sober to play Roblox, and it worked for months, but now when I open it, either it doesn’t open or it opens but when I click the play button on a game it just gets stuck. Also, I have it added to steam but on steam it does that weird thing where it shows as open for half a second then closes. I am using fedora 42, my specs are a 9300h and a 1650 laptop, someone please help

Linux and elite dangerous
I'm a complete noob with Linux, only had it installed for less than 12 hours. I'm using Linux mint, I have steam installed and working ish, steam is using my windows systems steam installed games and streaming to my nice new shinny Linux install.
I tried installing elite dangerous, which it tells me is windows only, how can I get round this, from the stream it runs like a dream, but I don't want to rely on windows anymore the idea is to move to Linux with all my computers. Can anyone help.
