I know it works on windows. I use debian or fedora depending on the time. I run most of my games in bottles. In my country 9060 xt 16gb is 3x more expensive than rx 7600 right now.

Specifically interesting in playing indiana jones and the great circle, cyberpunk, and kingdom cum 2.

i heard VMs support GPU passthrough which i also heard makes gaming through VMs viable. unfortunately i have encountered a game i would like to play that is totally nonviable to play even through wine/proton, and it's not linux's fault. is it viable? what programs should i use? ive heard of virtmanager, is that a good option?

Hi, long time Windows user but W11 is way to intrusive for my taste, so I installated and updated Zorin OS 18 (seperate SSD, dual boot) and I'm very impressed. I'm having some trouble with Steam/Arc Raiders which sometimes play fine but half the time is looses connection. I can reconnect, but unless some ARC or Raider has wasted me, I can play again but then it looses connection again. You get the picture. My PC in connected to the router via cable, and it never happens in Windows. Any ideas for a fix would be highly appreciated (could it be the UFW...)?

Hello everyone! I'm on Linux Mint 22.1 CInnamon and I wanted to try out Mesen2, but it won't boot at all. After first extracting the 'Mesen' file and clicking it, the initial configuration window pops up normally and I set it to install in a folder on my desktop & generate a shortcut as well. After installing everything, clicking the desktop shortcut doesn't do anything. It doesn't matter if I install in my user profile, the problem is still the same. My SDL2 is v2.30.0. Any ideas?

Hi! So I play on steam deck and everytime I open the launcher is says this. Me and my friends have a realm and I can't play on it because it says my launcher is outdated. I have not made the switch yet, but the thing that is making me pause is the support for NTFS. I have two drives that are massive, and I still need windows for Illustrator, or unsupported games, so completely going to Linux as of now isn't realistic.

I have four drives, two are ssds. The other two are 20tb each. I can't really sacrifice one for Linux, just one of the ssds. Are my concerns valid?

I was thinking of dailying Debian since I am already familiar with it.

So I recently upgraded my computer hardware, installed endeavouros as I had before, before upgrading hardware I was able to copy/paste between DE and Wine without any problem.

I play world of warcraft classic and I need to copy/paste a string for an addon, its called weak auras, but nothing happens when I paste.

I have tried the usual ways, ctrl -c, ctrl-v, shift ctrl-c, shift ctrl-v, saw someone mention shift-insert too, I tried them all basically.

Another user recommended opening notepad in wine and try to see if it works but it does not work for me.

It's possible to copy and paste from world of warcraft to kwrite but not the other way around.

Im more confused what has changed from my previous install when it worked and now it doesnt with my new install.

I use lutris, installed battlenet with the same lutris script I have always used through out the years. There are quite a few posts about this issue but none of them have been solved, I'm trying my luck.

I've been having trouble using the Dolphin emulator on Kubuntu. I have a Surface Go and I recently installed Kubuntu. I installed the Flatpak for Dolphin. Everything works fine. I mapped my controller and once I boot up any game, my controller isn't recognized. When I got to settings, my controller is there and I can see my inputs registering. But anytime I try play a game my inputs aren't being read.

I've Googled and searched on Reddit for troubleshooting tips but none of them seemed to work. I figured I'd ask directly here and see if anyone else is having trouble with Dolphin emulator on Linux.

Thanks in advance. I've been enjoying my Linux journey but I've only started using Linux about two months ago.

Hi guys! I am using Fedora Silverblue with Steam as Flatpak and want to use gamescope also as a Flatpak.

When I add any gamescope command in the launchoptions of any game it will not start.

It says there is no gamescope installed, so I guess it can not communicate with the Flatpak.

Is there a way to fix it? I want to use gamescope because some of my games seem to have problem with fractional scaling. I am using a 4k Monitor and 150% scaling on Gnome 49. Some games in Fullscreen mode are thinking my monitor is much bigger and you only can see 1/4 of the screen.

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of switching to Linux especially for gaming and other activities, but I would like to stick with dual boot with Windows.

On the main disk (500 GB NVMe) I have already installed Windows with various programs, and I would like to do a dual boot by installing Linux on the same disk or, possibly, on another disk. I also have a 2 TB NVMe disk where I have games installed, and a 4 TB hard disk for photos, videos and other personal data. Furthermore, I have a PC with a Ryzen 7 5700X3D CPU, 16 GB of RAM and an AMD RX 6600 video card, so I would also like some advice on which Linux distribution would be the best to make the most of this hardware in gaming.

Where is it best to install Linux in dual boot and how much space is recommended to dedicate to it? I greatly appreciate any advice or practical guide that can suggest how to best set things up, avoiding problems and making the most of Linux without losing the convenience of Windows. Thank you!
