Cardsharp: dark blackjack game released for Linux

Cardsharp is now available on Steam with native Linux support.

The game is a dark blackjack for solo or co-op play where losing a hand costs you a finger and winnings are spent on nasty items. It costs €5.19 (launch discount of 20 % for €4.15).

LOSE A HAND: LOSE A FINGER

One of your hands is held flat on the table where everyone can see it, and your five fingers are your entire health bar.

Lose, and the dealer takes a finger.

Win, and you will be granted some cash.

BUY ITEMS. USE THEM ON OTHER PLAYERS.

Because where is the fun if you can’t mess up with other players?

ZIPPO LIGHTER: burn the card an opponent was saving.

CURSED RING: push it onto anyone’s finger. When that finger goes, someone else bleeds with them.

ROMEO’S RING & JULIETTE’S RING: two rings, two people, one shared fate.

THE DUCK: a gift that cannot be sold, cannot be removed, and eats one of their slots forever. You can squeak it, though.

BLACKJACK, WITH EXTRA STEPS

THE CAGE: every third round a cage comes down over the table with items to buy. Spend what you won. You will need it.

THE PIT: a row of face-up cards in the middle of the table. On your turn you may take one. So may everybody else.

THE SLEEVE: a card you keep in your sleeves for whenever the time is right. Assuming nobody burns it first.
