Valve has kicked off Steam Programming Fest 2026, a themed sale built around programming, hacking and automation games.

The event runs until September 14, 2026, 10 am PT. Discounts cover games about coding, tinkering, optimizing and fixing things - from puzzle assemblers to factory sims. Many titles in the genre, including the automation and Zachtronics games, run natively on Linux; the rest can be tried via Proton on Linux and the Steam Deck.
