State of Mind by Daedalic Entertainment is currently available as a free giveaway on GOG, Linux included.

State of Mind is a story-driven science fiction adventure set in Berlin in the year 2048, following journalist Richard Nolan whose family vanishes without a trace after an explosion. The game explores themes of transhumanism and the merging of mind and machine.

Set in a future torn between a dystopian material world and a utopian digital society, State of Mind is a thrilling sci-fi mystery revolving around themes of transhumanism, digitization, and the fear that we are progressively losing our humanity. Follow the intertwining fates of six different characters and explore an in-depth story: The player takes over control of Richard Nolan, a journalist, and one of the last opponents of technological progress. Together with his half-digital companion Adam, Richard tries to unveil a global conspiracy around the promises of a transhumanist paradise.
