A free demo of Outcast Tales with a native Linux client is now available on Steam.
Outcast Tales is a turn-based tactical party RPG with a roguelite structure in which a crew of three outcasts travels through a post-apocalyptic western world, fights robots, mutants and desert raiders, and develops relationships between the characters along the way.
According to the developer, the demo covers around 50-60% of a typical run, but the endings stay reserved for the full game. Save files can be carried over to the finished game later. The minimum requirements list Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (64-bit). The title is developed by Hardlane Studio and published by Inner Pocket.
In the Outcast Tales demo, you’ll journey through several areas and see around 50-60% of what a typical run has to offer, but the endings will remain out of reach.
One important thing: keep your demo save files safe. When the full game is released, you’ll be able to transfer your progress from the demo and continue your adventure from there.
Combine class and personality types to give each of your characters a unique set of abilities. A Preacher Mercenary and an Antihero Mercenary will behave quite differently. Create a balanced crew, or just try out the wildest combinations to see how they turn out!
Your characters can develop deep bonds or even fall in love - but can also come to despise each other, all depending on your actions.
