Itinerant Rig: touch-based 3D animation tool released

Itinerant Rig, a touch-first tool for 3D character animation, is now available for Linux on Steam.

The app lets you import rigged characters (.glb, .gltf, .fbx, .obj) with bones, weights, and shape keys, pose them with your fingers or a tablet, key full animations, and export them as .glb/.gltf or as a portable Godot project - mouse and keyboard are still supported but not required. The tool costs €10.25.

Import a rigged character, pose it with your fingers or tablet, key full animations, and export a ready-to-use file - all without ever touching a mouse or keyboard.

  • Touch-Native Posing: Tap a bone to select it, drag the on-screen rings and arrows to rotate and move it. Orbit, pan, and zoom the camera with familiar touch gestures.
  • Full Animation Timeline: Keyframe any pose, scrub the timeline, loop clips, and fine-tune motion with a graph mode for per-bone curves and easing. Manage multiple named clips per character.
  • Inverse Kinematics & Spring Bones: IK chains, pole targets, and planted/pinned feet. Add jiggle and secondary motion with spring bones and colliders.
  • Eye Look-At Rig: A draggable gaze target that both eyes track automatically as the head moves.
  • Shape Keys & Facial Animation: Animate blend shapes by hand, drive them from a bone, or set up automatic blinking.
  • Custom Shaders & Materials: Layered material stacks per mesh, including your own custom Godot shaders with live-editable parameters.
  • Multi-Character Scenes and a Cutscene Mode that sequences clips, sounds, and a keyable camera, then renders out an image sequence with mixed audio.
  • Audio & Lip-Sync: Import sound clips and line them up against your animation with a visual waveform.
  • Multi-language interface (English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese), plus undo/redo, autosave, and an in-app help reference.
