PS Maker has left Early Access with its 1.0 update.
The tool lets you build 2D top-down, story-driven games without writing any code - complete with a map editor, a no-code event system, a dialogue editor, and branching storylines with multiple endings.
The biggest new feature in 1.0 is a UI system: new actions let you add text, rectangle, image, and button components that can be freely resized and positioned in the game window. That unlocks title screens and a battle system. Finished projects can also now be exported as a Windows .exe.
Besides Steam, PS Maker is also available on itch.io.
Today, we have the PS Maker version 1.0 update and PS Maker is officially released on Steam!!
The biggest new feature in this update, which also brings PS Maker to 1.0, is the UI update! There are new actions for adding UI components, for text, rectangles, images, and buttons. Everything is draggable to resize and position in the game window.
Now with UI, we unlocked the ability to add title screens and add battle systems! To show the features, theres a new example that sets up a title screen and a simple battle system.
Highlights from the 1.0.0 changelog:
- Added rectangle, button, text, and image UI components with action configuration and draggable map previews
- Added new load game and options menu assets with customization options
- Added Windows executable export
- Added title screen and battle example projects
- Numerous editor improvements and bug fixes
