FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN’ has been released in version 0.8.6.
FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN’ is a rhythm game where players hit notes in time with the music during rap battles against a cast of different characters.
The update focuses on stability improvements and bug fixes - most notably a fix for a crash on iOS when connecting a keyboard. It also adds Discord Rich Presence customization and Wayland support on Linux. Over 40 bugs were fixed in total.

- Added the ability to toggle Discord RPC statuses and hide song info.
- (Linux) Added support for Wayland, which the game now defaults to.
- Added the game version as a compilation flag for modders to access.
- Added a shouldBop property to HealthIconData to allow animated icons to bop.
- Added album and sticker pack fields to the Chart Editor Metadata window.
Changed
- (HTML5) The “Touch To Play” sprite now smoothly scales when hovered.
- Discord RPC images can now be configured in the album and song data files.
- Discord RPC now pulls icons based on character icon data.
- Forced animations for the player character now unmute the player’s vocals.
- The Animation Editor now plays the Chart Editor theme music and click sounds.
Fixed (selection)
- (iOS) Connecting a keyboard no longer freezes the game.
- The Darken blend mode no longer renders with black boxes, fixing the Boyfriend Freeplay DJ Dad animation.
- Disconnecting a controller while in the gamepad controls menu no longer crashes the game.
- Selecting between events of different types while searching in the Events window no longer crashes the Chart Editor.
- Selecting between notes with different notekinds while searching in the Notes window no longer crashes the Chart Editor.
- The Stage Editor no longer crashes when loading in Texture Atlas props.
- Pressing a note with two different keybinds now properly penalizes health.
- Optimized the rimlight shader to improve performance in the Week 7 Erect stage.
- Enforced the Polymod blacklist in ReflectUtil.
- Blacklisted a class for security.
