A new stable Steam Client was released on 27.07.2026 for both the Linux desktop and the Steam Deck.

Fixes include a broken login dialog when the client is started with -silent, local game transfers that stopped working, and a bug with Proton games using mixed case paths that caused Disk Write Errors during install or update.

On the Steam Deck, the same update landed on the stable channel - the login dialog fix appears there under “Desktop Mode” and the transfer fix under “Downloads”.
