Another free DLC for the Euro Truck Simulator 2 is now available for Linux on Steam: Scania S BEV.

Truckers can now enjoy the Scania S BEV in Euro Truck Simulator 2! The Scania 40 S and 45 S BEV, which are both based on the Scania S with a 4x2 Chassis, feature two powertrain options, a six-speed transmission combined with three electric motors with a continuous power output of 400/450 kW (540/610 hp). The interior comes with a few specific changes for the electric variant. BEV-specific gauges are introduced alongside a refreshed interior that includes Blind Spot Indicators built into the A-pillars, an electronic parking brake, as well as some smaller changes to the driver’s dashboard. Please be aware, that as our in-game world of Euro Truck Simulator 2 faces similar difficulties as the real one, we currently do not have an electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the game. As such, we have decided to bring this electric vehicle into the game only as an option in predefined deliveries known as Quick Jobs.

The Renault Trucks E-Tech T boasts impressive specifications, including a powerful 540kWh battery that enables it to cover up to 350 kilometers on a single charge when using a DC charger during a one-hour break. Equipped with a 4x2 configuration and a 12-speed Optidriver gearbox, it offers a seamless driving experience. It has a Gross Combination Weight (GCW) of 44 tons, highlighting its impressive hauling capacity. Additionally, its maximum regen rate matches its maximum output, reaching an impressive 490kW. Please be aware, that for now, as our in-game world of Euro Truck Simulator 2 faces similar difficulties as the real one, we do not have built electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the game. Fixed a bug that meant the festival areas do not show the festival cooldown for the client. Fixed the “Real Machine Gun” Upgrade for the Watchtower. Fixed the “Military Police” Edict not correctly changing the Crime Safety values for Military buildings. Towers now open the Military Strength-Overlay during placement, instead of the Crime Safety-Overlay, which is usually not affected by them. Fixed the “Right to Arms” Edict not changing affected values correctly. Fixed the Cathedral upgrade being overwritten by the Theocracy Constitution option. Another (paid) DLC called “Portugal Pack” to Civilization VI is now available for Linux on Steam!

This new content pack introduces João III as the leader of Portugal. Includes the Portugal civilization with João III, the Nau unique unit, and two unique structures, the Navigation School building and the Feitoria. Civ Unique Ability: Portugal’s unique ability, “Casa Da Índia,” significantly increases the yields of International Trade Routes, but limits those routes to cities on the coast or with a Harbor. This ability also grants Trader units additional range and the ability to embark on water tiles as soon as they’re unlocked. Leader Unique Ability: Joao’s unique ability is “Porta Do Cerco,” which grants all units increased Sight. It also increases Trade Route capacity whenever Portugal meets a new civ and provides Open Borders with all city-states. Unique Unit: Portugal’s unique unit, the Nau, is a naval melee unit that replaces the Caravel. It starts with one free Promotion, requires less maintenance than the Caravel, and has two charges to build Feitorias, special shipping ports unique to Portugal. Unique Infrastructure: Portugal has access to two unique structures. Portugal’s unique building, the Navigation School, replaces the University building and increases Production toward naval units in each city that builds it. It also increases a city’s Science yields for every two coastal or lake tiles within the city’s borders and grants additional Great Admiral points. The Feitoria can only be built by a Nau unit on a foreign city’s coastal tile next to a luxury or bonus resource. Sending a Trade Route to a city with a Feitoria provides Portugal with additional Gold and Production. New “Zombies Defense” Game Mode The Portugal pack also introduces the new Zombies Defense game mode. In this optional game mode, the dead don’t stay dead for long and present an ever-growing threat to the world’s civilizations. BRAINS! The Dead Don’t Rest: Every unit has a chance to respawn as a ravenous Zombie when it dies. Zombie units hunger after and attack the nearest non-Zombie unit; any units they slay succumb to the infection and respawn as Zombies themselves. The Living Fight Back: An arsenal of new trap and barricade improvements deal damage to hostile units that pass through or near them and can be built in owned or neutral territory. Zombies’ obsession with brain-banquets and digestive-devastation means they can only fall victim to these improvements and never pillage them. Humanity Takes Control: Two new projects allow civilizations to temporarily subjugate Zombie units within a city’s limits, putting them under player control. The “Holy Site: Turn Undead” project unlocks early, but controls Zombies only briefly. The “Campus: Horde Control” project unlocks later in the game, but grants additional turns with which to command Zombies’ mindless mayhem. Meanwhile, the “Zombie Outbreak” spy operation attempts to spawn Zombies on worked tiles in another player’s city. New map script and new World Wonders: The Portugal content pack also includes a new map script and two new World Wonders: Wetlands Map Script: Squelch your way to victory through a soggy map dominated by Marshes. This map offers new strategic challenges and defensive possibilities: while Marshes penalize Movement, careful positioning can allow ranged units to exploit enemies’ reduced speed. Torre de Belém World Wonder: This imposing tower historically served as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon in Portugal. Grants additional Gold and Great Admiral Points. International Trade Routes embarking from this city receive additional Gold for every Luxury Resource at the destination. When constructed, any cities owned by the civilization but located on other continents receive the cheapest building they can construct at that time. Etemenanki World Wonder: The name of this Babylonian ziggurat translates to “temple of the foundation of heaven and earth.” It grants additional Science yields every turn, as well as bonus Science and Production to all Floodplains in the city that builds it and Marsh tiles in that civilization.

This new content pack introduces Basil II as the leader of Byzantium and Ambiorix as the leader of Gaul. The Byzantine Empire can subjugate enemies with religious and military might, supported by their two unique units, the Dromon Ship and the Tagma. The Gallic horde focuses on military flexibility boosted by a backbone of culture and production with their unique Oppidum district. Civilization VI is required to play add-on content and some features of the New Frontier Pass require the Civilization VI Expansion Bundle to work. Includes the Byzantine Empire with Basil II, the Dromon Ship and the Tagma unique units, and the Hippodrome unique district. Civ Unique Ability: The “Taxis” ability gives units additional Combat Strength or Religious Strength for each Holy City converted to Byzantium’s Religion. Byzantium’s Religion spreads when an enemy unit is defeated. Cities with Holy Sites earn bonus Great Prophet points. Leader Unique Ability: Basil’s “Porphyrogénnētos” ability allows Heavy and Light Cavalry units to do full damage against cities following the same religion as Byzantium. Basil gains the Tagma unique unit when the Divine Right civic is discovered. Unique Units: Byzantium features two unique units. The Dromon replaces the Quadrireme, has additional range, and receives additional Combat Strength against units. The Tagma replaces the Knight and grants nearby land units additional Combat Strength or Religious Strength. Unique District: The Hippodrome replaces the Entertainment Complex district, is cheaper to build, and provides additional Amenities. Grants a Heavy Cavalry unit when the Hippodrome and its buildings are constructed. Also includes the Gaul civilization with Ambiorix, the Gaesatae unique unit, and the Oppidum unique district. Civ Unique Ability: The “Hallstatt Culture” ability allows Mines to provide a minor adjacency bonus for all districts, Culture Bomb unowned territory, and grant additional Culture. Specialty districts cannot be built next to the City Center and do not receive adjacency from other districts. Leader Unique Ability: With the “King of the Eburones” ability, Ambiorix’s civilization gains additional Culture based on unit cost when a non-civilian is trained. Melee, anti-cavalry, and ranged units receive bonus Combat Strength for every adjacent combat unit. Unique Unit: The Gaesatae replaces the Warrior. It is more expensive to train, but receives additional Combat Strength when fighting stronger units and district defenses. Unique District: The Oppidum is cheaper and available earlier than the Industrial Zone and unlocks the Apprenticeship technology when constructed. It is defensible, offering its own ranged attack, and receives a major adjacency bonus from Quarries and strategic resources. New “Dramatic Ages” Game Mode (Requires the Civilization VI Expansion Bundle to play) An optional, specialized game mode with exclusive rule changes: A New “Normal”: Civilizations always enter a Dark Age or a Golden Age in every new era, both of which are more potent than ever and eliminate Normal Ages. New Policies: Players gain access to special Social Policies instead of making Dedications, including new and updated Golden Policies and Dark Policies that offer more flexibility and power. To make contact, seek out a Society where its influence might hide: Barbarian Camps, Tribal Villages, Natural Wonders, or City-States. Discovery is not guaranteed, but you are more likely to find a Society that other players have not discovered, or on continents where no Society has yet been discovered. Alternatively, invest in diplomatic visibility to learn about them from other leaders. Discovering a Society unlocks a unique Governor with powerful bonuses, which players do not need to assign to a city. Once you become a member of a Society, you commit to membership for the rest of the game. It also grants Science for every Ley Line in the city Voidsingers A player has a chance to discover this Society by investigating Tribal Villages. Governor Bonuses: Level 1 - Unlocks the Old God Obelisk. Replaces the Monument. Also provides +4 Faith and 1 Great Work slot that can hold any kind of Great Work. Level 2 - Cities earn Gold, Science, and Culture per turn equal to 20% of their Faith per turn rate. Level 3 - Unlock the Cultist unit. Purchased with Faith, it is a Religious unit that can spend a charge to ‘Recruit Followers’ into the cult from enemy cities. This action reduces the Loyalty of the city it is in by 10 and requires a charge. When the Cultist expires, the owning player is awarded with a Relic of the Void Level 4 - Unlocks the Dark Summoning city project which can be performed in cities that have an Old God Obelisk. While active, it converts Production per turn into Faith. When the project is completed, it increases the amount of Loyalty damage your Cultists do against enemy cities by 2 (up to a maximum of 30). Sanguine Pact A player has a chance to discover this Society by capturing Barbarian Camps. Governor Bonuses: Level 1 – Player granted a Vampire unit. Combat unit with variable melee strength. Reduced passive healing. Retreats to capital upon death, healing to 1 HP. Heals an additional 50 HP from pillaging enemy tiles. Gains Combat Strength when a unit dies adjacent to it. Has base Combat Strength equal to the player’s strongest built unit. Strength from defeated Barbarian is capped at +10. Level 2 - Unlock the Vampire Castle improvement. Cannot be placed next to another Vampire Castle. Can be placed on empty tiles in player-owned or neutral territory. Can only be placed by Vampires. Grants defensive bonus to any unit on the tile. Vampires move to the player’s nearest Vampire Castle (or capital) when they die. The player may only have as many Vampire Castles as he has Vampires. Vampires can remove the player’s Castles, and any unit can pillage Castles. Vampire Castles grant yields to their owner’s capital equal to the yields of all adjacent tiles. If you enjoy the sound of thousands of rounds echoing over the AO this is the DLC for you. New Outfits Music and clothing are two of the most powerful statements of personal style and belief one can make. From the Hippies in the 1960s, fighting against warmongering politicians, to the Punk Rockers in the 70s and 80s, smashing guitars over the head of capitalism, or rappers busting rhymes against oppression. And some people simply prefer an orchestra mixed with gunfire and explosions, wandering the Earth with a gun in one hand and a trumpet in the other, looking for wrongs to make right. They have been effective avenues for informing society at large if you play by the rules or not - a sure way to either show your conformity or to say “FUCK YOU!” to the establishment. Custom Weapon Colors Do you feel you need more variety in your arsenal? Do you feel the need to pimp out your guns? Perhaps make them match that snazzy outfit you are wearing or the mask covering your face. No one says you can’t look good while mowing down the cops. With 20 different colors to customize your weapons, you will not be without options. There are even some free colors to let you try out the system and see what you can do. Each of the colors can be applied to any weapon in the game and with 6 different application sets and 5 wear states to choose between. With this DLC you will have well over 600 variants for each of your weapons. Safes, Drills and the Marketplace As some of you have seen in my announcement last week we are changing how our weapon skin safes and drills work. You will no longer be able to sell or trade a drill or an unopened safe on the marketplace as of this update, and you will no longer be able to buy drills for the older safes. However, all old safes that used to require a drill will now be openable without the need for any drills. If you have old safes in your inventory you will now be able to just open them like our more recent safes. Furthermore, all the safes that have once been in the rotation but were removed will now be added to the pool of safes you can receive in a loot drop. Why are we doing this? These changes are made because of certain legal aspects connected to sales of digital items with a random outcome. Since drills are part of the mechanic of opening a safe, we will remove these items as well. What will happen with your old Drills? If you have old drills in your inventory they will be converted to a safe of the corresponding type. A “Dallas drill” will become a “Dallas safe”. The new safe will be openable right away and you can claim the skin inside. Will something change with the skins? No, the skins will function just as they do now. You can use, sell, buy and trade them just like normal. What Safes and Drills are affected by this change? All safes will be made nonmarketable and nontradeable. This change will affect every safe even if they did not require a drill. You will no longer be able to purchase drills directly. Drills in players’ inventories will be made nonmarketable and nontradeable. The following safes will be made openable without a drill and will return to the drop table for available safes: Sputnik Safe Bodhi Safe Dallas Safe Wolf Safe Jimmy Safe Sydney Safe Crimefest 2 Safe Any drills currently in a player’s inventory safes will be converted into its corresponding safe on the next launch of the game. What will happen with the items in the Steam marketplace? Any item currently on the market place will remain on the marketplace until these items are taken off the marketplace, either but a successful purchase or the original owner taking the item back. Once these items are in a players’ inventory these items will be updated according to the changes outlined above. Why are we adding more safes to the drop table? Without the need for drills, the older safes work just like any other safe. And we wanted to bring a greater variety of skins to our players. Some of these old safes had very short runs in the rotation and therefore there are a lot of players that never had a chance to get these skins. We wanted to make all the skins available to everyone. That being said, since these safes are rare we want them to keep that sense of rarity. All our safes have different drop chances based on the safe type, and these safes will be a rare drop similar but not identical to “event safes”. What about the safe and drill gained from the Completely Overkill Pack DLC? Since that safe and drill were not tradable or marketable from the beginning and these safes have never been in rotation, this safe and drill will be completely unaffected by these changes. We’ll need to clean the place up a bit before the island’s medical authorities are willing to recognise this as a hospital and give us a medical license. Wiggy’s using the hospital to make good on all those times he’s offered someone a job without thinking it through; for some reason he thought it’d be a good idea for them to work as our janitorial staff. We won’t have access to a pool of highly trained medical janitors. Instead, we’ll be able to hire other, random, totally inexperienced people. We’ll need to get training, or maybe just hire loads of them, as Pebberley receives some of the most erratic and unique weather in the County. Overgrowth It’s hard to believe, but a community used to live at the heart of this jungle before it got angry with them and, you know, ‘over grew’. People who had lived here for millennia were forced to leave their home and live down the road a bit. The plants here are pretty judgemental, for vegetation, but might respond positively if you care for the people and restore balance to the area. When we arrived, we found incomprehensible word and number sequences written into the bark of some of the trees. Try as we may, we just couldn’t make any sense of “Cure 10 Patients”, you should probably take a look. Good luck and, remember, the trees are watching! Topless Mountain The incredible natural plateaus of this area are perfect building foundations. They’re just so flat. Much more suitable than those pointy Pointy mountains they have in the north. The ancient people certainly thought so, that’s why they did lots of building here back in the ancient times, with their ancient tools. The transport out here is a nightmare, as you can imagine, and tourists that make it this far tend to have gotten sick on their travels, so big groups (we’re calling them ‘waves’) of sickly sightseers will be turning up all at once. Whilst you’re treating them, Wiggy’s crew will be excavating the ruins. It might be worth keeping an eye on their progress: the more they find, and restore, the more boneheads we’ll get turning up at the hospital. The people of Pebberley Island have been suffering from some very unusual illnesses indeed. Perhaps we can help!
