Other News about gaming on Linux
I'm thinking of Switching to Nobara. Will it work for me?
I'm using a laptop with Linux Mint installed. My laptop games just fine, but I feel this OS is outdated, so I want to move to the newer one.
So I looked around and found Nobara Linux, built by the goat who makes the 3 games I like playable on Linux. I don't care nor am afraid of switching from Ubuntu-based to Fedora-based, but I'm still thinking about it.
My spec:
i7 1065G7 (No exact model because the old mainboard just broke and I have it upgraded because my exact model is out of stock)
Nvidia MX230 2GB VRAM
2x8GB of RAM
I want some advise for this. Maybe a review from a user or a suggestion will be fine, expectally about Wayland on Nvidia graphics

AMD Undervolt 5700xt
Hi all I'm looking to fix my "Broken" 5700xt.
I've been troubleshooting to try to fix it and I was wondering if there is any GUI or anyway for me to under-volt the GPU.
I'm using Bazzite, and it has been running fine, however when I tried a more demanding game, the issues started to happen again, from what I read online, between changing cables, setting a fixed the refresh rate, cleaning the gpu, the one thing that I haven't tried yet is undervolting it, and I was wondering if there is any software or any way for me to Undervolt my GPU.

Is there any way to use a G-sync compatible monitor alongside a non G-sync one in Linux?
I previously had a 2 monitor setup of 2 1920x1080p 60Hz monitors. I upgraded my main one to a 2560x1440p 165h G-sync compatible one as I have an RTX 3060 12GB. I tried turning on G-sync, but it would only work if I disabled my secondary monitor, so I asked for help on this and other forums. I got told that X11 only allows G-sync if all monitors have it, but Wayland doesn't so I should switch to a distro with Wayland, as I was on Linux Mint. After some research, I decided to switch to Fedora KDE. I tried to turn on G-sync, and then realised that is not possible due to the limited options the Nvidia X Server Settings has in Wayland. I researched a bit, and figured out that you have to turn on VRR in the display settings. So I turn it on, and nothing happens. I research a bit more and many 1-2 year old posts say that only VRR is supported on multiple monitors in Wayland and not G-sync due to Nvidia's bullshit. Have there been any developments about this, and if no, is there any way at all to turn G-sync on with a G-sync and non G-sync monitor at all or am I stuck with using 1 monitor while gaming until Nvidia gets its shit together or I get an AMD GPU?

Nvidia gpu + Geforce not detected / working on Fedora linux, advice wanted
i know this is a tech support question, and while my performance isnt hindered by it i still want to double check if i have done everything right
when i switched to linux on my laptop i was amazed by how easy of a switch it was. that was also due to me preparing myself with virtual machines back on windows 11 so i didnt jump into the deep unknown.
one thing that still has me questioning if i did it right is the nvidida drivers / gpu recognition.
my laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 laptop gpu and an AMD ATI Radeon 680M Dgpu.
when i installed my drivers i followed a tutorial wich stated i needed to input this command for my drivers:
sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia
my gpu afterwards was still not recognized. i installed the nvidida package seen in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcMUyaZZVpo (the nvidia section is located at 22:47)
this also didnt change my gpu or made geforce appear.
did i do this right? is this normal? how do i make my Nvidia gpu appear in neofetch and does geforce even work on Fedora?
thanks in advance
