Solo developer Orangepixel is celebrating 20 years as a full-time game dev, with an announcement that Heroes Of Loot: Gauntlet Of Power is set to launch in June mixing together dungeon-crawling and horde-shooters together.

So I'm running Fedora 40 KDE. I'm using an RTX 4090. I have Nvidia driver 550.78 and running Wayland. I enabled HDR in the display settings on KDE. Gamescope is installed. I'm trying to get Cyberpunk 2077 running with HDR. I added the following launch options:

gamescope -W 3440 -H 1440 -r 165 --hdr-enabled -f -e -- %command% --launcher-skip --intro-skip -skipStartScreen

The game will start and get to the main menu and then locks up every time. Just wondering if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong or what I'm missing?

Is it possible to install multiple Steam Games in one Prefix on Linux(Compatdata)?

Some games give you some extras or bonus when they detect already installed games. I tried the STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH= variable but this seems not to work. The games will still create a seperate prefix.

Is it possible in Steamdeck's gaming mode (gamescope session with high-end PC) not to load the Steamdeck settings, for example, Atomic Heart loads optimized Steamdeck settings, but I'm playing on a high-end PC and want to set the settings to maximum, but Atomic Heart recognizes my PC as Steamdeck and forces the optimized Steamdeck settings. I play in this mode to enjoy HDR, VRR, and low latency. It would be cool if I could avoid this by using a simple launch command.

Here's a good way for you to jump into the Monster Hunter world with Humble Bundle, plus some of the bigger DLC to go with it too.

I am using fedora 40 KDE trying to launch red dead 2 through lutris and I am getting an error to update drivers however it was my understanding that the required drivers are already included

I'm playing LoL, and after playing perfectly fine for several minutes I get kicked from the game for not having Vanguard running. Except, get this, Vanguard IS running. The program that Riot gives root access to your PC is so advanced that it isn't even sure if it's actually running or not. The only fix I have found for this is restarting my PC before booting the game back up. And even though I just turned my computer on to play the game and didn't have an update 10 minutes prior. Windows decided that right this very second I had to update my system, it NEEDED to be right now. No warnings, no lube, nothing. In the span of 2 minutes I went from getting fucked by Riot to getting a good ol fashioned Windows spit-roast.

In my 5 or so years of using Linux I can't think of 1 single experience that comes even close to as frustrating as this. Sure maybe I can't play the occasional game that I want to. But I also don't ever have to restart my PC so my natively supported kernel level anti cheat can recognize that it actually IS running. Only to then have my PC restart itself several times to do a system update that improves literally nothing and only serves to somehow make things worse.

Valve have issued the first update to the SteamOS 3.6 Preview series for Steam Deck, throwing in a couple of needed fixes.

I updated to KDE Plasma 6 and now my text ingame (running through proton) looks like this!, i have encountered this same issue with another game that was running through wine lutris but it was not so detrimental as it is in this EUIV, what causes this and how do i fix it? I use Manjaro linux.

when i try to run any game in dolphin (linux), the fps is really low, even thought i have a nvidia gtx 780 on my second pc, but when i try running dolphin on windows, the fps is stable, then why?

Si as the title says, I'm trying the HDR using Gamescope from a TTY. The Monitor says HDR is enabled, and I'm able to enable it inside games, but colors are washed out, it looks way worse than without HDR. Not sure what I'm soing wrong

A post for future users hopefully with good enough keywords so its easier to google
In proton 9 I would have 90% of my games crash on startup, they would get to a Title card or Loading Indicator and then crash. I want to run all games in Windowed mode since I run an ultrawide monitor. The fix that has been working for me is to launch with Proton 7.0-6, make it to the menu, to where I can then change my settings to windowed mode. Afterwards I can launch the game with the latest Proton version to more likely fix any other problems I could run in to.
The problem lies in https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/7206 where you can solve this with Disabling "Force Composition Pipeline" in nvidia-settings.
