Good new for AMD/Intel users, XeSS 1.3 is out and you can try it now
First, an important note: Intel increased the upscale ratio in XeSS 1.3, meaning the new Ultra Quality is actually the old Quality, and the new Quality is actually the old Balanced, etc. While they stated this in the release notes, it is still very misleading for end users. The same-named preset settings now provide more FPS with lower image quality, and many people likely won’t know the reason if they don’t read the release notes. If you compare using the actual upscale ratio, the improvement isn’t more FPS, but better clarity for objects in motion, although some image instability was introduced.
Digital Foundry made a detailed comparison between XeSS 1.2, XeSS 1.3, FSR 2.2 and DLSS 3.7 in this video
Now, here’s how to try XeSS 1.3:
- First, backup the old libxess.dll file in your game folder, usually located in the same folder as the game's .exe file.
- Download the XeSS SDK zip file from here.
- Unpack the zip; the new libxess.dll is inside the bin folder, replace the old libxess.dll with it.
The game will now use XeSS 1.3. However, the new upscale presets like Ultra Quality Plus (which is the old Ultra Quality) won't be available until the game developer updates the setting.

Did Ubi just force the beta update on everyone?
I tried opening ubi connect through lutris and it updated, closed, then I had to relaunch it and it asked me to sign in so I did and it opened the beta to the new launcher (which runs like dried old crusty dog poo). It's borderline unusable now. It doesn't detect an internet connection half the time and when I tried to play the division 2 it's asked me to connect to ubisoft connect. Did it do this for anyone else?
P.S. Also, it has a button you can click that will take you to a survey asking about specific aspects you like/dislike about the beta which also includes a section for suggestions. So maybe, just maybe if enough people ask for a native linux app then we will get one and battleye, eac, etc. support for wine/proton. They can't keep ignoring the growth of linux market share.

DirectX on Linux?
Basically I've been forced to use windows for a while due to my GPU being a few years too old to support Vulkan and was unable to run games when I used Linux on my PC, Just recently got around to trying out the newest version of Ubuntu and I've been really wanted to jump back in but still want to be able to play games without needing to dual boot
Is there anyway to get DX11/10/9 to work on Linux?

Linux Gaming is great! But is it also Linux Modding Games?
I switched to Linux a few months ago and things are going great! I'm using an arch-base distro and almost every game I play works out-of-the-box! (thanks to Valve and community <3)
But... what about mods? I really want to play modded Skyrim but I still don't know how things are here on Linux, and it's the only thing I'm worried about. From what I tested on Windows, a mod manager and some external software were needed to make the game work the best, so I was wondering how the situation here was the same or better/worse.
Have you already modded a game? How was your experience? Do you have any tips, advice, warning or some youtube video I can rely on? Anything helps!

How do we think Ghost of Tsushima will run on Linux
I'm hoping it will run well considering its being ported by nixxes, especially with forbidden West being so good at launch.
